Green Deal

If you want some good energy advice, then the following is something you may not have heard about yet!

Did you know that under the new Coalition Government, in their Green Deal, every household in this country may be entitled to a package of energy improvements using an allowance of up to £6,500. Interested?

The purpose of the Green Deal is to encourage as many people as possible to take measures to make their homes more energy efficient and it will achieve this by providing all of the upfront finance for such measures by way of a charge against their energy bills.

The Green Deal will make use of Energy Performance Certificates but the assessments will be carried out by Green Deal Advisors instead of Domestic Energy Assessors who will be fully accredited. The Recommendations that are eligible for funding under the Green Deal (yet to be decided) will be carried out by accredited Green Deal Installers. The cost of the work will be funded by Green Deal Providers.

Householders will receive an upfront grant of £6,500 to pay for the scheme and retrofit their home with insulation and devices to reduce their power usage and reduce carbon emissions. Businesses, charities and utility companies will carry out the work. Large stores such as Marks and Spencer have already expressed an interest in the idea and the Chief Executive of the UK Green Building Council has said ‘The Green Deal is a big step in the right direction’..

Well Grant Shapps the former shadow housing minister, in the article link below explains what the conservative Green Deal is all about, to encourage us to save energy. So not only do you save energy but you save on energy bills. Does this sound good?
