Energy Saving Systems

Did you know... you could be losing as much as 60% of your heat by having no or insufficient insulation in your home.

To insulate your loft it would cost you around £250 (including installation). 25% of heat is lost through the loft space.

Up to 33% is lost through exterior walls and an average cost to insulate a cavity wall would be around £300 which would include installation. This would give savings of up to £160.

Internal or external insulation would be a more expensive exercise so you would need to get some professional quotes for this. Anything from £500 to £800 would be typical.

Single glazed windows can lose up to 25% of heat so installing double glazing may cost between £3000 to £5000 on an average house. This could save up to £150 per year.

An energy efficient condensing boiler would cost around £2000 (including installation) & save up to £200 per year.

Here is a short video from working lunch that highlights the problem of heat loss in a Victorian home.
